We longitudinally assessed mainly ambulatory motor function using beagles with nerve regeneration via a polyglycolic acid (PGA)-collagen tube. Histological and electrophysiological assessment are important means of assessment of the regeneration process, although the ultimate goal of nerve regeneration is the recovery of motor function, so nerve regeneration is effective when this recovery is first noted. We 3-dimensionally analyzed motor function assessment and studied techniques for 3-dimensional analysis of ambulatory motor function during nerve regeneration. The result was that 3-dimensional motor function assessment was useful for ambulatory motor function assessment of nerve regeneration via a PGA-collagen tube. |
