The concept of Kegare is concerned with the filthy, the bad, the ominous and sin. Death, child birth, menstruation, illness, injury and sexual intercourses are in the concept of Kegare. This paper examines if mental disorder is Kegare. A case of cat possession is selected to ascertain this question. The case was put in Kegare before she fell ill.
