内容記述 In Japan, the age of pregnancy is increasing, and the number of high-risk pregnant women is expected to increase. Therefore, there is an urgent need to predict and prevent the development of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Clarifying the association between the urinary sodium-potassium ratio, which is considered to be a marker of blood pressure in the general adult population, and self-reported dietary habits could help to predict the development of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the association between self-reported dietary habits and the urinary sodium-potassium ratio in women in the first trimester of pregnancy. Regarding self-reported dietary habits, more than half of the 104 respondents reported a lightly seasoned taste. The number of respondents who reported an adequate intake of fruit was lower than that of those who reported an adequate intake of vegetables. There was no significant association between seasoning, vegetable intake, or fruit intake and the urinary sodium-potassium ratio in early pregnancy. There could be other variables, such as genetic factors, which play important roles in determining the urinary sodium-potassium ratio. This study suggests that dietary guidance for pregnant women based on the urinary sodium-potassium ratio, rather than self-reported dietary habits, is appropriate.
